TGI stands for ‘Thank Goodness It’s’ and is short for ‘thank goodness it’s Friday’ – which is how most TGI members feel on Fridays after a hard week.  It is also relevant because the group meets every Friday.  The venue varies and is usually in one of the members homes – this is usually in the notice sheet on Sundays but is worth checking with a member as it can sometimes be incorrect or altered.  The group meets primarily to learn about God, share problems and discuss / debate issues.  The group operates a ‘confidentiality’ policy whereby discussions held within the group are not to be repeated outside of it.  This creates a comfortable atmosphere for sharing and caring for one another.  Prayer is also a key component of the evenings activities.Kathy Smith is currently the representative from the group in the church ‘wider leadership group’ and Kathy is the best contact to know what we are doing from week to week and where we are.

The format of the group is informal and we generally commence around 8.00pm/8.30pm with refreshments / nibbles and proceed into a Bible Study, which can be a one-off or part of a series.  We aim to ensure that those which are part of a series can be enjoyed in isolation so that you don’t miss too much if you miss a week.  Some of the Bible Studies are centred around a video and some around Bible Study booklets.  Leadership of the Bible studies is a joint effort by all members with occasional visits from the WBC ministerial team.Most of the group members are couples with children/young people within the church – but it is not exclusively so. 

Anyone is welcome to come along and see what we are all about.The group also arranges social activities from time to time including day trips, camping weekends, dinner dances etc.  The group is also active within the church helping to organize fund raising activities and other social/outreach activities as well as the ‘service menu’ that individual members are active in.
