Introducing Poss-Ability | Print |  E-mail
Poss-Ability is an inter-denominational group for a mixture of people  with learning difficulties and"no"learning difficulties. We meet on the last Friday of each month at The Spring and each meeting follows a similar pattern. We eat together(soup and bread). We sing at the beginning and end-these are the same songs each time.We share news.We have a Bible story-often read and acted out,we have an activity and we pray.Usually we sing a different song in the middle.
We have been meeting for several years, having initially run a freely adapted Alpha  for our guests. We have tried to develop a sense of family support for our guests. We have also found the sessions becoming popular with carers, who often ask us to pray for situations.
There is often a great deal of hilarity at the sessions-usually caused deliberately. There are also often thought provoking comments. There are also romances among the guests! We have not yet had a wedding, but live in hope.
Sadly,we have had to turn away a number of folk who would like to attend as we do not have space for any more members. We are praying and working to see if it is possible to get another group started somewhere in Wakefield.
We meet to plan each session some time between the meetings.
If you feel you would like to seewhat goes on,contact Flo Bradley or Jody and Jackie Gabriel.
